Pulaski isn’t just the home of the “Pulaski Polka Days Celebration”. For the fifth year in a row, a passionate group of individuals along with Promote Pulaski, Inc., have helped plan the week long celebration “Casimir Pulaski Days”. This year, the event will take place, March 4th-March 11th and is expected to bring thousands of visitors and locals to the small community.
A Kick-off the Celebration is planned for Sunday, March 4, after 10:30 a.m. mass at Assumption BVM Catholic Church. A ministry group from ABVM is coordinating a potluck lunch after mass and all are welcome to attend. In addition to the potluck, there will be a birthday cake, to commemorate Casimir Pulaski’s Birthday which is honored on March 4th. All attending the social gathering will be entertained by a few local musicians. A young local artist, Maria Deau will feature her works of art in a beautiful Polish display. In addition, there will be church tours given. Assumption BVM Catholic Church is one of the largest known rural churches in America, featuring two 135 foot-tall Spanish-style towers, including 50-foot ceilings showcasing more that 40 Italian-made stained glass windows. The church will also host a Polka Mass on Sunday March, 11th to end the week long celebration. Music will be provided by a local family of musicians, the Maroszek Brothers.
Businesses will be engaged in weeks prior to help promote the event with the “Where’s Casimir Pulaski Promotion”. Life-size cut-outs of Casimir Pulaski will be strategically placed throughout the Village in different businesses. Individuals can take their photo with Casimir, share on social media using #casimirpulaski and #wherescasimir hashtags. They may also register to win tickets to the dances, and other prizes, in a Live Facebook presentation that will be held at each participating business.
