Call Meeting To Order: The PAHS February 24, 2020 meeting was called to order by President, Larry Puzen. The secretary’s notes from the PAHS dinner were revised. A motion to approve the secretary’s report was made by Norine Heuser. Steve Peplinski seconded it. All in favor. Motion carried.

Treasury’s Report: Norine Heuser shared the Treasurer’s report. The museum’s checkbook balance is $31,863. Most of it is put towards the museum improvement fund. Thank you to Barb and Bob Joswick who donated $300 to the scholarship fund. A motion was made by Rock Mannigel to accept the treasurer’s report. Steve Peplinski seconded it. All in favor, motion carried.

Comments: Larry Puzen talked about cases from VanLannen Video that were donated to the museum. The PAHS, however, has no room for them. Some ideas were discussed, possibly replacing old cases with the ones from VanLannen Video, or possibly selling them. It was decided to sit on it and think about it.

Pie Auction: Proceeds from the Pie Auction will go to the PAHS. If you wish to make a pie, please drop it off on Sunday, March 1 between 8:30-10:30 at the Legion.

Historical Building: Amy Steizer wishes to remodel Classics. The pub is a historical building and needs to follow certain remodeling restrictions. The PAHS would like to take photos of the building before the remodel.

Yearbooks: Some people have come forward to donate their yearbooks! Thank you! Rock Mannigel also talked to the yearbook editor at PHS and he has possibly agreed to try and donate a yearbook to the Historical Society every year, starting this year.

Scanning Project: We are looking into buying a scanner to process images and documents. This project, once underway, will need volunteers to help scan all the documents we would like to. There is more planning to be done in terms of how we will make our information accessible to the public from our website, how much it will cost to expand our website, and which scanner would be best. We would also like to purchase all of the editions of the Pulaski News dating back to the 40’s. To do this would cost a flat rate of $135. Possible donations to make this happen are welcome.

OLD BUSINESS

Communications: Norine Heuser shared that we received a thank you from the BEA Valley Family(From Bea’s sister). We also got a thank you from the Wisconsin Historical Society Foundation for donating $50 for their scholarship.

Polka Museum in Fox Valley: Bruce, Roger Brzeckowski’s son, received clippings from the Polka Museum. They do not believe it is worth our pursuit to get more information on asking for items of their collection. Some of the information was flawed and would not be worth our while.

Casimir Pulaski Participation: Pam shared that there are enough volunteers for the museum the week of Casimir Pulaski Week.

The Last Yegg of Pulaski: The author of The Last Yegg of Pulaski will be at Barnes & Noble on February 27th. Larry Puzen plans on attending to ask him if he would be our speaker for the PAHS Dinner in October of this year.
