Board of Directors Meeting
Monday, July 1, 2019

Present: Mike Blohowiak, Tammy Brzeczkowski, Roger Brzeckowski, Norine Heuser, Chris Jaworski, Steven Karcz, Larry Puzen, Don Mannigel, Pam Mannigel, Steve Peplinski
Excused: Maria Deau, Katie Walters, John Milhalko
Call Meeting To Order: The PAHS July 1, 2019 board meeting was called to order by President, Larry Puzen. A motion to approve the secretary’s report was made by Rock Mannigel. Chris Jaworski seconded it. All in favor.
Treasurer’s Report: Norine distributed a brief treasurer’s report to the board with the recent passing of our treasurer, Larry Szymanski. A motion was made by Chris Jaworski to accept the treasurer’s report. Steve Peplinski seconded it. All in favor.
Treasurer’s Position: After discussion by the Board about the open treasurer’s position, Norine Heuser, accepted the position appointed by the president. Tammy Brzeczkowski, was appointed as Secretary to the Pulaski Area Historical Society. Both will fulfill the positions until the end of the fiscal year.
Communications: A donation letter was received from the Wisconsin County for Local History. Norine will look into what we donated last year, and if it is around the $25 we will donate the same. A discussion was held on joining other historical societies to stay in touch with what is happening in other organizations.
The Endowment Fund – Rock reported that the next committee meeting will be held July 11th. The committee will provide recommendations to the board after the committee meeting on the possibility of setting up an endowment fund.
Museum Trinkets – Pam reported that this will be tabled until 2020.
Museum Back Door Construction Project: Larry reported to the board that no bids have been received. Tammy will advertise it on the Facebook group about obtaining bids for the project. Anyone interested should contact Larry Puzen for more details.
Upstairs Project: Rock reported nothing new to report at this time.
Road Rally: Chris Jaworski reported that the Brown County Historical Society’s 2nd Annual Road Rally will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019, starting at Voyageur Park in De Pere. The Pulaski Museum will take part again in this event. Chris will keep us updated on the event through email.
Polka Days: Pam reported that the museum will be open during Polka Days on Friday 2-5, Saturday 10-4 and Sunday after the parade from 2-4. Summer hours at the museum are Mondays 3-5 and Wednesdays 2-5. Roger reported that there will be a float with music in the parade. Chris Jaworski will pull the float.
Website Report: Tammy provided a website report for the PAHS website.
Polka Day Museum Display: Steve Karcz reported that this is in the works.
Board Member Comments:
Steve Peplinski reported that on August 24th the class of 1955 will be touring the museum.
Tammy reported that Mike Brzezinski, from the Polish Heritage Society, will be putting on two classes, one on Polish Genealogy and one on JJ Hof. Tammy will find out the specifics and provide the information on the website and social media. (see below)

Polish Genealogy is an introduction to general genealogy as well as specific Polish resources to help find information about your Polish roots. How to find tools, such as old maps of Poland, words used on Polish Head Stones, US Naturalization, Probate Records, Newspapers and more. Polish marriages and church records. Pay tools and free tools, what is at the library? Bring a USB drive for a digital copy of this presentation. Everyone will receive a printed copy.
Tuesday Sept. 24th from 7-8pm for JJ Hof Presentation (PHS – LGI room)
JJ Hof, what about JJ Hof, how do you spell his name? What was his name? How wealthy was he? What did he do when not at his desk selling land? Did he have business partners? Why does he have such a large headstone? More and more information is becoming available digitally today, and many questions about JJ Hof can be answered now.]
Tammy mentioned that Maria Deau contacted and confirmed that Larry Treankler of MCL will be our guest speaker at the Banquet in October.
Adjournment: Norine made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Steve Peplinski seconded it.
